Description
Toyota 1VD-FTV 4.5L V8 Twin Turbo Diesel Engine
The Toyota 1VD-FTV 4.5L V8 Twin Turbo Diesel Engine is a powerful and highly capable diesel powerplant designed for the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Series. Developed for demanding driving conditions, the 1VD-FTV combines a large-capacity V8 configuration with twin turbochargers, common-rail direct fuel injection and an intercooler to deliver strong power and substantial low- to mid-range torque.
With a displacement of 4,461 cc, an 86 mm bore and 96 mm stroke, and a 16.8:1 compression ratio, the 1VD-FTV was engineered to provide the Land Cruiser with the performance required for heavy-duty driving, long-distance touring, towing and off-road use.
Depending on market and engine calibration, the 200 Series twin-turbo version is commonly rated at approximately 195 kW (261 hp) at 3,400 rpm and 650 Nm of torque between 1,600 and 2,600 rpm. Some European-market versions were rated higher, at up to 210 kW (286 hp) at 3,600 rpm, while other regional specifications have different outputs.
This engine is an excellent replacement or upgrade option for compatible Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Series / J200 / VDJ200 applications, subject to the vehicle’s original engine specification, transmission, wiring, ECU and emissions configuration.

Compatibility
This 1VD-FTV twin-turbo diesel engine is primarily associated with the diesel-powered Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Series, including VDJ200 applications. The same 1VD-FTV engine family was also used in other Toyota Land Cruiser applications, but single-turbo and twin-turbo versions are not interchangeable without considering the complete engine, turbocharging, fuel, electronics and vehicle systems
